Apple Pie: A Classic and Timeless Recipe

Ingredients
- 300 g of 00 flour
- 150 g of caster sugar
- 150 g of butter at room temperature
- 6 Golden apples preferably medium-sized, peeled and sliced
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 3 eggs medium-sized, at room temperature
- 1 glass of milk about 120 ml
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- Icing sugar for decoration
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preparation of the dough: In a large bowl, mix the soft butter with the caster sugar until smooth and homogeneous. Add the eggs, one at a time, while continuing to mix. Incorporate the flour sifted with baking powder and a pinch of salt, alternating with the milk, until the dough is smooth and homogeneous.
- Adding the Apples: Add the apple slices to the batter, stirring gently with a spatula to distribute them evenly. If you wish, you can keep some apple slices aside to decorate the surface of the cake before baking.
- Baking: Pour the dough into a previously buttered and floured baking tin (or lined with baking paper) and level the surface. If you have kept some apple slices aside, now is the time to place them on the surface of the dough. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon powder for extra flavour.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Every oven is different, so we recommend checking the baking after the first 35 minutes.
