Chocolate and cream cake is more than just a dessert; it is a journey into a world of pleasure and indulgence that delights the senses and enriches special moments. Our exclusive recipe is distinguished by its soft texture, intense chocolate flavour and the sweetness of cream, creating a perfect balance of flavours
Ingredients
- 250 g of high-quality dark chocolate
- 200 g of unsalted butter
- 150 g of caster sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 100 g of 00 flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 250 ml of fresh whipping cream
Instructions
- Preparation: Step by Step
- Pre-heating the oven: Start by pre-heating the oven to 180°C. This ensures that the cake bakes evenly.
- Melt the Chocolate and Butter: In a pan with a bain-marie, gently melt the chopped chocolate together with the butter, stirring until smooth and homogeneous.
- Whipping Eggs with Sugar: In a large bowl, whip the eggs with sugar until light and fluffy. This process incorporates air into the mixture, making the cake fluffy.
- Incorporate the Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into another bowl. Gently incorporate them into the egg and sugar mixture, alternating with the melted chocolate.
- Pour in the dough and bake: Pour the dough into a previously buttered and floured cake tin. Bake for about 25-30 minutes. A trick to check the baking is to insert a toothpick in the centre: if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
- Preparation of the cream: While the cake is cooling, whip the fresh cream with a pinch of icing sugar until it is firm but soft.
- Decoration: Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the whipped cream over the surface with a spatula, creating a wavy effect. For a finishing touch, you can grate dark chocolate over the cream.
